CPMCCalifornia Pacific Medical Center (CPMC)
Ground Floor Public Affairs (GFPA) was retained by California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) to launch a community development campaign to build a citywide network of support. As part of the Beyond Medicine campaign, the team identified over 25,000 supporters over an 18 month period through grassroots organizing and has nurtured these relationships in partnership with local health initiatives and programming. For example, theHealthy Living forum series created local events of open dialogue with members of the community surrounding issues ranging from diabetes to nutrition. GFPA has also created CPMC BabySteps, a social networking website for new parents that fosters relationships and provides a comprehensive database of family friendly resources and health services. Through online advertising, offline events, and promotional partnerships, BabySteps has positioned CPMC as a community leader not only among CPMC patients, but also among the participants of the greater San Francisco health care delivery system. Through this extensive community campaign, as well as political strategy and relationship management, GFPA has worked with CPMC to accomplish its political and policy agenda.

CPMCPearson Foundation
In conjunction with the Pearson Foundation, Ground Floor Public Affairs has worked with the non-profit Jumpstart on "Read for the Record," an event that promotes literacy and early education. "Read for the Record" is a national campaign designed to bring attention to the importance of early education by bringing people together to read the same book on the same day to hundreds of thousands of children nationwide – setting a Guinness Book of World Record for each of the past three years. For the San Francisco and Los Angeles events, GFPA served as the conduit spearheading participation on a vast variety of levels, helping create a successful model for years to come. By utilizing our relationships from both the private and public sectors, GFPA facilitated each event with high-profile individuals, as well as conducting the coinciding press conference. Participants have included Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Entertainer MC Hammer, San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris, San Francisco Superintendent of Schools Carlos Garcia, as well as a collection of community and business leaders, elected officials, and public figures.
